A 51-year-old Augusta woman went to extremes to show her daughter how upset she was with her constant begging for money.

According to police reports, 31-year-old Crystal Gunter of Neillsville and her mother, Cynthia, were recently involved in an argument. Crystal allegedly wanted her mom to loan her $400.

The mother refused, prompting the daughter to run to her mom's car, remove her purse and run into her Grand Avenue home, locking the door behind her.

Cynthia responded by ripping up $400 in cash and shoving it into her daughter's mailbox before eventually calling police to report her purse stolen.

Cops were later able to retrieve the purse and nothing appeared stolen. No charges are pending.
