The Marshfield NewsHerald reports authorities in Clark and Marathon counties are investigating a rash of thefts of horse equipment totaling about $20,000.

The most recent occurred between Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon when a black, custom-made horse cart was stolen from a farm on Highway E in the town of McMillan, just outside of Marshfield. The cart is valued at $3,000.

Authorities say the culprit appears to be knowledgeable as they're only taking quality things.

Thefts in Clark County have been reported in the Towns of Beaver and Willard.
