SPENCER MAN CONVICTED OF KILLING WIFE

It took a jury in Marathon County only 90 minutes to side with prosecutors and convict a Spencer man of first-degree intentional homicide Friday.
A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for about an hour and a half before announcing they had determined 40-year-old Patrick Zurkowski intentionally killed his wife, June, last March.
Zurkowski had claimed in testimony he had shoved a ceramic plate down her throat not to kill her, but to keep her quiet.
