The Marshfield News Herald reports there will be no criminal charges filed in connection with a Labor Day crash that took the life of a 9-year-old Loyal girl.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Wood CTH B and H, just west of Marshfield.

After reviewing the reports, the Wood County D-A elected not to file criminal charges against 25-year-old Joshua Rinehart of Abbotsford.

According to police reports, Rinehart failed to stop for a stop sign, colliding with the vehicle driven by Eric Lindgren of Loyal, which was westbound on CTH H.

Rinehart told investigators the brakes on the vehicle didn't work and he pumped them several times before impact.
