MARSHFIELD CLINIC EXPANDING IN EAU CLAIRE

Marshfield Clinic opens a $23-million addition at its Eau Claire Center.
The ambulatory surgery and imaging center is evidence of the growing trend toward outpatient services.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services say 65 to 80% of surgeries are now done on an outpatient basis. Administrators say convenience and cost are driving those figures.
The Eau Claire center has four operating rooms and private recovery rooms for people undergoing outpatient procedures.
The addition adds 30 jobs and has space for future expansion.
