A Wausau West high school girls basketball coach will plead not guilty to charges accusing him of having sex with a 15-year-old player on the team.

40-year-old Mitchell King of Marathon waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a brief court appearance Thursday. Circuit Judge Dorothy Bain ordered King to stand trial on 10 charges, but no date was set for him to enter a plea. The social studies teacher is facing five counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16, four counts of child enticement with sexual contact and one count of exposing a child to harmful material. School officials suspended King from coaching and teaching.
