A Chili man won a North American Strongman competition over the weekend.

In winning the Asphalt Assault II held in Hastings, Minnesota, Carl Foemmel has qualified for the Amateur National Strongman competition, which will be held in October.

Strongman competitions feature some odd events meant to test the contestants' all around strength and endurance.

In the ‘yoke walk’, Foemmel was able to carry 700 lbs. 80 feet in 11.8-seconds.

Foemmel was the only competitor to dead lift 700 pounds.

He pushed a Chevrolet Suburban 50 feet, flipped a 600 pound object 6 times and walked 50 feet with 260 pounds in each hand in just over one minute.

Foemmel will complete in the Amateur National Strongman competition in Louisville, Kentucky on October 21st.
