ANNUAL MEETING SET FOR MONDAY
Friday, August 25th, 2006 -- 2:09 pm Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
Neillsville school district residents will be able to speak their piece during the “annual meeting” Monday night. The Board of Education is required to have a budget hearing in which the upcoming budget is reviewed and taxpayers are allowed to speak. According to superintendent John Gaier, the upcoming budget features a less-than-one-percent spending increase, a tax levy that is virtually unchanged from the last budget’s $2.6-million and a tax rate that will also be much the same as last year’s $7.19 per thousand dollars of property. Of course, those numbers are subject to a lot of change should voters approve a revenue cap exemption referendum on September 12th. The annual meeting will be held in the Middle School Pit at 8 p.m. on Monday.
