TRAGIC CRASH TAKES LIFE OF FOOTBALL, ACADEMIC STANDOUT

An 18-year-old man is dead after a Sunday morning rollover accident in Trempealeau County near the town of Ettrick on County Highway D.
Sheriffs officials say Andrew Komperud of Ettrick lost control of his car and drove off the road. He was thrown from the vehicle. In a tragic and ironic twist, Komperud was just named high school football Lineman of the Year by a La Crosse newspaper. He never knew. The award was announced in Sunday's edition.
