We have more information on an accident that happened in bad weather Sunday night.

Two people were transported after a 2-car, one-semi collision on Hwy 73, just east of Meridian Avenue – south of Neillsville. The chain-reaction accident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. when a westbound car driven by 31-year-old William Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids slid on the slippery road, then a car driven by Tou Khang, also of Rapids, swerved to avoid Johnson’s vehicle. A semi driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Steckler of Milladore, also westbound, collided with both vehicles. Khang and Steckler avoided injury, but Johnson and his passenger, 31-year-old Quinie Leary, were both injured and transported. Their injuries were listed as serious at the accident scene, but there is no update on the conditions. The Neillsville and Granton Fire Departments responded.

The Neillsville Fire Department was also called to the scene of a van fire at 1:18 p.m. yesterday. The fire was on Snyder Lake road. There were no injuries. The crew spent around an hour on the scene and the van was a total loss.
