Phy Ed Bill Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-A new Phy Ed Bill was discussed at last week’s Owen-Withee School Board Meeting.

District Administrator Bob Houts informed the Board of this bill which would require all elementary students to have 30 minutes of physical education each day. Currently, Owen-Withee students get
45 minutes a day, twice each week. However, a concern for the district is that they would need to hire another P.E. teacher and create some new facilities or schedule whole grades together for P.E. which would put 35-40 students in each class.

The bill is still in committee and being discussed in Madison.
