Pedestrian Deaths Up In January
Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 -- 8:15 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

The number of pedestrians killed in Wisconsin in January is up significantly from last January.

According to preliminary numbers from the DOT, seven pedestrian deaths have occurred in 2014; in 2013, two pedestrians were killed during the month of January.

A few of this year's incidents happened when people got out of their vehicles, after a run-off or breakdown, and were then hit by another vehicle.

Safety officials remind drivers who experience problems during winter weather, to stay in their vehicle - when it's safe to do so - call 911 and wait for emergency assistance.
