-The new Family Dollar in Greenwood celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday morning.

Sheila Nyberg of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation was the emcee for the event and Mayor Jim Schecklman was on hand to congratulate the business.

Mayor Schecklman said, "From a consumer stand point, as well as a mayoral stand point, I'm extremely excited that Family Dollar is going to be here. It's a beautiful addition to Main Street. Very, very convenient for a small town to have a store like this in addition to what we already have."

Senator Terry Moulton was at the opening as well to offer his congratulations.

Senator Moulton said, "There's a lot of exciting things going on in Clark County. I've been to a number of ribbon cuttings with Sheila. There's been a lot of things going on in Clark County for economic development and especially for rural communities here."

Newly elected 69th District Representative Bob Kulp was also on hand to offer his congratulations, even though he admitted he was a little out of his district, as was Jerome Krempasky of the Clark County Board and Pat Lindner of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.

The District Manager of the Greenwood Family Dollar gave a little background on the Greenwood store and Family Dollar.

Steve said, "I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out here. Its been about a year and a half since we first looked at the site. It's a great honor to be in Greenwood. As a company, we've been around since 1959. We have over 8,000 stores open now in the country."

Congratulations to Family Dollar.
