With Spring clean-up now underway for many Adopt-A-Highway groups, authorities are again urging caution in dealing with potential meth dumpsites.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department reports recently finding four sites they believe are meth lab dumpsites. They’ve all been located in the Township of Green Grove, south of Owen in the northern part of Clark County.

The dump sites consist of various plastic type containers but mainly of the 2-liter soda-type plastic bottles, officials report.

Initial field testing of these unknown liquids indicate very high levels of ammonia, which is a key ingredient in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

The Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for any possible information related to any of these sites.

If you find containers containing liquids, do not move or tamper with them - they could be extremely toxic. Instead, contact your local law enforcement agency or the Clark County Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-743-2420.
