RUDY CASE HEADED FOR TRIAL

Shaun Rudy was back in Clark County Circuit Court Monday for an arraignment on charges he killed his wife and her unborn child and then mutilated the corpse to cover up the crime.
Both the family of the alleged victim, Christine Rudy, and Shaun Rudy’s mother were in the courtroom Monday.
Last month, Rudy signed a “Waiver of Preliminary Hearing” clearing the way for the case to go to trial. Yesterday, Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsell officially accepted the waiver.
Arraignments are court proceedings in which defendants can enter pleas to the charges against them. On the advice of Attorney David Grace, Rudy allowed the Court to enter “not guilty” pleas on his behalf.
A status conference has been set for May 16th at 10 a.m.
