A 22 year-old Dorchester woman is facing up to 50 years in prison after being charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in the March 11th crash that killed her mother. Authorities say 22-year-old Megan Redding’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when the car she was driving spun on a curve and hit a tree outside of Colby. 47-year-old Laura Redding died at the scene of the crash. Megan was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Redding told investigators she’d been out drinking with her mother and a friend of her mother when they left around bar closing time and dropped off a friend in Colby. The accident happened on Highway “N”. Redding is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Clark County Circuit Court April 20.
