ELECTION'S TUESDAY - WILL POLL WORKERS BE READY

 There seems to be some slightly organized chaos in advance of Tuesday’s Spring Election – the first general election where Wisconsin voters will need to be registered.
“Electors can register to vote on Election Day,” says Clark County Clerk Christina Jensen. “They should bring their driver’s license with them, if they have one. If they don’t have a driver’s license number, they can provide the last four digits of their Social Security number.”
If you plan to register at the polling place, you’ll need to present some proof of residency, such as: a Wisconsin motor vehicle operator’s license, a Wisconsin identification card, a library card or a real estate tax bill or receipt.
Passed in 2002, Wisconsin’s implementation of the “Help America Vote Act” has been costly and anything but smooth.
“It’s been a lot of extra work for the county clerks,” Jensen says. “The statewide voter registration is still not fully-implemented through the State Elections Board. They’ve provided us with pre-printed lists, but they’re not the lists from the statewide voter registration system.”
“They’ve found a lot of bugs,” Jensen laments.
Polls in most locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
