2013-2014 School Calendar Approved at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed and approved the 2013-2014 school calendar at their Monday meeting.

District Administrator, John Gaier, talked about some changes to next yearís calendar. Teachers will now have 189 contracted days compared to the usual 188. This extra day will be used for a Joint Professional Development day with several area schools.

The other districts that will also be participating are Greenwood, Granton, Thorp, and Loyal. Teacherís first day back will be August 26th and the joint meeting will be August 27th. These districts are partnering with CESA 10 for theses meeting and they will have another joint meeting on January 24th.

The meeting will focus on what teachers can do to offer the best Tier 1, or classroom, education at their respective districts. There will be group and single projects for each district.

Even with the changes to the calendar, the students will be done by June 6th of 2014, weather permitting.
