-The Clark County Sheriff’s Department has released a sex offender bulletin making the community aware of a convicted sex offender relocating to Clark County.

Gary Thiede, age 43, will relocate to the county on March 27th and be residing at N1955 Miller Avenue of Neillsville. He has to relocate to Clark County because that's where his crime was committed.

Thiede has served a 20 year prison sentence for the 1988 murder of 16-year-old Robert Aponte. Gary Thiede was 19 at the time. He had been staying with Aponte’s family since the summer.

Court documents show after killing Aponte in his Hatfield home, he stole guns and knives from the home. Investigators say he then robbed a bait shop and drove to Abbotsford. He was later arrested at a movie theater.

Mr. Thiede served a prison sentence for 2nd Degree Murder, 3rd Degree Sexual Assault and Attempted Enticing of a Child for Immoral Purposes.

Thiede will be under intensive supervision and must follow all rules of his probation. Mr. Thiede will remain under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until Sept. 2nd, 2016.
