DROWNING DEATH

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a drowning death involving a 4-year-old girl. The initial investigation indicates Chelsea Bruce of Thorp was outside playing when she fell into the South Fork of the Eau Claire River, which is near her residence. She was missing for about 10-15 minutes when she was located in the water by a relative. Resuscitation efforts were immediately attempted and the Thorp Area Ambulance transported her to Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, where she was later pronounced dead.
