Neillsville Winter Carnival, Part 1

-The Neillsville Winter Carnival is happening this weekend.
A couple of pre-weekend kick off events include our Gold Medallion Search, but, if you were hoping to find it, the medallion was found yesterday. You can also get your “buy one, get one free” Bruce Mound lift tickets. That promotion is only available during the Winter Carnival weekend.
Thursday night the Miss Winter Carnival Pageant, a new event, will take place this year. Deanna Heiman, Executive Director of the Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce, explained why they added the new event. "That actually started with the Miss Neillsville Court. They wanted to introduce some of the younger girls to the pageant atmosphere and decided to put this together. We'll have Miss Winter Carnival reign over the entire weekend's events, which is always nice to have them be a part of the celebration."
Deanna also mentioned that the Clark County Jail will have something a little different going on. They are going to have an old picture day to allow residents to see a visual history of the area.
There are plenty of other events to look forward too. "Friday night is always the fun Variety and Comedy Show, on Saturday we have the co-ed Volleyball Tournement, and the Pool Tournements are also on Saturday."
