Monday, January 21st, 2013 -- 11:07 am
Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

The Neillsville boys basketball team will start a big two week stretch Tuesday night at Owen-Withee.

The Warriors (13-1, 11-1) are currently in second place in what has become a challenging Eastern Cloverbelt. Tuesday night they head to Owen-Withee to take on the Blackhawks (7-8, 7-5) whom they have not played yet this year. Owen-Withee gave conference leader Augusta all they could handle last Friday losing 59-53.

Neillsville then travels to Greenwood on Thursday night for a rematch with the Indians (12-4, 10-3). Neillsville beat Greenwood back on Dec. 7th in Neillsville 76-59. Also on Thursday, Augusta will travel to Mfld Columbus.

Next Tuesday, the 29th, Neillsville will be at Mfld Columbus (12-4, 9-4). The Warriors beat the Dons the first time in Neillsville on Dec. 11th 54-49 but Columbus has been playing well as of late. Also next Tuesday, Augusta is at Greenwood.

On Friday, Feb. 1st, Augusta (16-0, 13-0) is at Neillsville, and depending on how the games go before this one, it could be for the Eastern Cloverbelt title.

All the Neillsville games during this stretch will be broadcast live on 92.7 FM WPKG.

Eastern Cloverbelt Standings:
Augusta 13-0
Neillsville 11-1
Greenwood 10-3
Mfld Columbus 9-4
Owen-Withee 7-5
Colby 4-9
Loyal 4-9
Spencer 4-9
Gilman 2-11
Granton 0-13
