WOOD COUNTY BOARD SUPPORTS ARPIN DAIRY PROJECT
Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 -- 10:57 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The company that hopes to reopen the Arpin Dairy is getting some help from the Wood County board. The Board this week unanimously agreed to loan Prestige Milk Proteins LLC $250,000 to buy equipment for the plant's operations. The money is part of a revolving loan fund to assist with economic development. Under the loan agreement, Prestige Milk Proteins agrees to create at least 133 new full-time jobs – many by 2009. Three companies – American Casein, American Custom Drying and Prestige Proteins – have teamed up to reopen the facility. The County’s loan is in addition to a $850,000 state and federal loan package.
