Wisconsin Rapids Man Makes Court Appearance for Kidnapping

-A Wisconsin Rapids man made an appearance in Wood County Court on Monday.
Back in December, Lee Winchester, age 30, got into an argument with a woman and she locked herself in a car to get away from him.
He then pulled out the driver’s side window, forced the woman into the passenger’s seat and then drove away. The woman’s mother observed the altercation and tried to follow Winchester, but she couldn’t catch him.
He finally let her go in Marshfield where she told authorities that Winchester kidnapped her against her will and that she was afraid of his temper and violent outbursts.
Winchester has charges of kidnapping, taking and driving a vehicle without consent, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property filed against him, all as a repeat offender.
Winchester remains in the Wood County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. If convicted of all the charges, he faces a maximum of 52.5 years in prison.
