-The Elementary Principal of Owen-Withee, Lance Batchelor, gave a report at the recent Owen-Withee School Board meeting.

Lance reported on the annual elementary school food/supply drive that stared Nov. 1 and runs through Friday, Nov. 16.

The Action Club is sponsoring the event which brings a lot of food that is donated to local food pantries for Thanksgiving.

The 4th-6th grade teachers are proposing changes to how the Honor Roll is determined.

Currently, there is one honor roll for students with a B+ average or better. The proposal asks that there be a High Honor Roll for students with an A- or better and an Honor Roll for students with a B to B+ average.

Lance congratulated Kallie Falteisek and Samantha Nelson, two sixth grade students, for winning the Jaycee’s Veteran’s Day Essay Contest for the elementary school. Kallie and Samantha read their essays at the Veteran’s Day assembly on Nov. 9th.

Finally, Lance said the elementary Title I Department will be inviting parents to their child’s classroom to learn about common core standards.

The presentation, designed to be 15 minutes in length, will be done in conjunction with the parent lunch days.
