-Clark County landowners and residents can now access real estate document information online.

A knew land information website known as LandShark allows people to gain access to real estate documents for free, said Clark County Register of Deeds, Lois Hagedorn.

In order to access the system, users must register and establish a user name and password. When the individual is registered, the user will be able to search land record data by name back to 1987 and by legal description back to 1989.

All the information on the website comes from real estate documents recorded in the Register of Deeds office.

Images of real estate documents are also available, however a fee will have to be paid to view or print the document.

Lois went on to say, “Our former online land information site was a transaction based site where the user was charged for both data and images so the new site should be a welcomed change for landowners. We are excited about the new system and encourage folks to give it a try.”
