-It was a busy night for the Neillsville City Council.

The council approved the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce to use the Sniteman Town Square Park for the Christmas Tree Lighting Event on December 1st. Deanna Heiman, Chamber President thanked them for the approval.

Continuing on with the Christmas theme, the second City Council Meeting for the month of December was rescheduled for December 26th. The second meeting of the month fell on Tuesday, December 25th. As the council members didn’t want to hold the meeting on Christmas, it was moved.

The council also approved the building of a tower, which could be as tall as 190 feet, at the Clark County Courthouse. It will be used by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department for communications purposes.

Dave Flynn informed the council that the department originally looked to another community to have it built there, but, when the time came for construction to start, problems arose and the deal fell through.

Dave then put the item on the agenda for the Neillsville City Council at the request of the Sheriff’s Department in order to get the tower plan taken care of.
