Local Wrestlers In Iowa This Weekend

Phillip Opelt and Luke Dux of Neillsville will be competing in the Pre-Season Nationals this Saturday and Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Opelt, a senior at Neillsville High School, will be competing at 126 pounds while Dux, a second grader, will compete at 45 pounds. There are 2500 wrestlers in the high school division and 1500 in the grade school & junior high division. There are 127 wrestlers alone in the 126 pound weight class.
Both Opelt and Dux have been practicing all summer at the Weigh-In Wrestling Club in Eau Claire.
Results from this weekend's Pre-Season Nationals can be found at trackwrestling.com and themat.com will live stream the championship matches in the high school division on Sunday.
