The family of a Hatfield man who was fatally shot during a confrontation with authorities agrees with investigation findings that officers were justified in using lethal force.

The State Department of Justice’s report ruled two Jackson County officers showed a tremendous amount of restraint prior to shooting 36-year-old Shane Jacoby on November 29th.

Wednesday's Clark County Press reports Shane’s father, David Jacoby of Wisconsin Rapids, agrees with the report's findings. He said his son returned from military service in the 1990’s a changed man, and he became increasingly vexed by commercial development in the Hatfield area.
