Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

-The Neillsville Fire Department was called out on Saturday just after 8:30.

The department received a report of a rubbish fire. An individual was burning some debris and called the fire department, afraid that the fire was getting out of control and the flames were getting too big to handle.

The department arrived and was on scene for an hour. They put out the fire and continued to wet it down to keep it from flaring up again.

The department had no mutual aid and there were no injuries on their part.
