Neillsville City Council Talks Possible Raze Order and Truck Bids

-Only a few items on the agenda for Tuesday’s City Council Meeting here in Neillsville.

The board was informed on the progress of a piece of property on 108 W. Fifteenth Street. It was decided at a past meeting that something needed to be done with the property due to the large amount of repairs needed.

The council has informed the owners several times that work needs to be done, but no progress has been made. At this point, information has been filed with the court and if the property is found to be a public nuisance, a raze order will be issued.

When a building is razed it’s because the building is considered to be either so old, dilapidated, or out of repair that it’s considered to be unsafe. However, this will, more than likely, not happen until next Spring.

Also, a seal bid was approved for two old dump trucks that the city doesn’t want to stick any more money into. Both trucks are over 30 years old. If they city doesn’t receive a high enough bid, they will scrap the trucks and see what they can get for them.
