Marshfield Clinic Donates to Wipe Out Hunger

-Marshfield Clinic recently made a donation to the Marathon County Hunger Coalition that will help the group provide fresh produce to individuals and families in need.
The Clinic committed $3,800 to help fund a new program that gives the Hunger Coalition the resources it needs to provide fruits and vegetables during times of the year when it does not typically receive donations. The Hunger Coalition is an initiative of United Way of Marathon County.
“This is a wonderful way to help those less fortunate receive fresh fruits and vegetables,” said Dr. Eric Penniman, a Marshfield Clinic Primary Care medical director based in Wausau. “We’re hopeful this effort will improve the health and well-being of the food pantry users.”
The number of individuals and families seeking assistance at food pantries has increased steadily since 2008.
