Improved Policies, Teacher Changes, and A New Grant Discussed at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School board discussed and approved many items at their meeting on Monday.

The School District is going to participate in the Race to the Top Grant. The district will be working with CESA 10 and looking for ways to improve student learning and improve teacher effectiveness.

The board also approve several policies including head lice, gifted and talented, fixed asset, and funds and balance/fiscal management policies.

Some capital purchases for the elementary were approved. The district is going to look into some valve replacement on their boilers.

Compensation and benefits for teachers was approved as well as the National FFA Trip.

Regarding teachers, the board also approved Michelle North to become a full time teacher’s aide in the Middle and High School instead of part time. John Waters will be returning to the district for a semester, at least, while the district continues to find a full time tech-ed teacher.
