Two People Hospitalized After House Fire in Stratford

-Two people are in the hospital after a house fire near Stratford.
The fire occurred Sunday evening.
According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, the fire started because a woman was canning food in the basement of the home.
The department continued saying the woman tried to put out the fire and suffered burns and injuries from smoke inhalation.
The woman is in critical condition and a man in fair condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Investigators say the basement of the home is damaged.
