A thunderstorm blew through the area late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning causing power lines to come down in Neillsville.

The lines are located on 6th and State Street and the Neillsville Fire Department was called out shortly after 6 this morning to provide assistance in directing traffic and putting out cones for Excel Energy as they worked on fixing the lines. Excel was still on location at mid-morning.

If you traveled through Neillsville and the surrounding area this morning, you've noticed numerous small branches and tree limbs down due to the storm. At Schuster Park in Neillsville a large limb came down and took out a light. There was also some cases of small trees being blown down.
