Thorp Man Appears in Court for Strangulation

-A Thorp man appeared in Clark County Court Thursday.
Scott Gurklis has charges of strangulation and battery filed against him when he allegedly tried to strangle his boss after a heated argument.
According to reports, he allegedly tried to assault his boss after he was fired from the job.
Darwin Zwieg appeared on behalf of the state and Leon Schmitt appeared on behalf of Gurklis.
Leon Schmitt told Judge Jon Counsell that his client was requesting a preliminary hearing.
Zwieg had no objections.
Gurkliss has a future court date of August 6th.
