Blasting Operations on WIS 34
Wednesday, July 18th, 2012 -- 8:32 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

-Crews plan to temporarily stop traffic on WIS 34 between Edgewood Court (Wisconsin Rapids) and in Reddin Road (town of Rudolph) beginning today for blasting operations.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation said that blasting operations are scheduled to occur weekdays between the hours of 9 to 10:30 a.m.; 1:30 to 3 p.m.; and 6 to 7:30 p.m.

During these times, motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and slow or stopped traffic conditions for up to 15 minutes. To avoid any potential delays motorists may want to use alternate routes.

The closures are necessary to safely accommodate rock blasting for the village of Rudolph’s extension of sanitary sewer to Wisconsin Rapids.

Closures for blasting operations are currently expected to occur through Friday, August 17.

However, the DOT would like the public to know that the work and closures are subject to change based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
