State Makes Closing Arguments, "Koula is a Lying Murderer."

-After three weeks of testimony and two years since the death of his parents, Eric Koula’s fate is now in the hands of the jury.
The day started with Judge Scott Horne reading directions that inform the jury to use only the evidence to reach their decision, defined legal terms such as reasonable doubt, and read the charges Koula has filed against him.
La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke labeled Koula a “lying murderer” who planted evidence to mislead investigators when he got nervous.
“He had the motive, he had the means and he had the opportunity,” Gruenke told jurors.
Gruenke said, Koula executed his mother at her office computer, then like “stalking his prey,” waited about 15 minutes for his father and shot him as he walked in the door.
“It’s determination,” Gruenke added.
Gruenke also went on and on about the lies Eric told regarding the “fixed you” note and the $50,000 check. He also said Koula was selfish and only looking out for himself. That’s why he took money from his parents and planted the note.
Gruenke said, “Eric lead police on a wild goose chase to lead investigators away from him. He even terrified his family to make them think the killer was after them. He’s only looking out for himself.”
