Armed Robbery In Marshfield

An armed robbery was reported at around 8:17 am Friday morning at Walgreens on North Central Avenue in Marshfield. The suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of prescription drugs.
An officer in the area at the time of the call observed the suspect fleeing the store and attempted to stop him. The male fled and entered American Auto at 900 North Central Avenue and concealed himself in a business office.
Officers established a protective perimeter around the business and diverted traffic around the area.
Officers on the scene were eventually able to convince the suspect to surrender. A 31 year old Marshfield man was taken into custody and will be transported to the Wood County jail after being medically cleared at St. Joseph's Hospital. Charges are pending.
