Neillsville Loses/Spencer Advances

The Neillsville girls softball team lost their Regional Final on Thursday 15-2 to Marathon while Spencer advances to the Sectionals with a 3-2 Regional Final win over Wausau Newman.
At Neillsville, this game was tied at 1 going into the 3rd inning and that's when Marathon exploded for 10 runs on 8 hits and they were helped by 5 Warrior errors in the inning as well. The lady Warriors could only manage 3 hits off of Marathon's Kayla Stanley, two of those hits were triples, one by Katarina Nemitz, the other by Jenny Lindner. Neillsville ends their season at 22-2 while Marathon advances to the Sectional Semi-Final at Neillsville on Monday where they'll play Stevens Point Pacelli at 4:30 pm.
Meanwhile the Spencer Rockets advanced to the Sectional Semi-Finals with a 3-2 upset win over #1 seed Wausau Newman. The Rockets now advance to play in the Sectional Semi-Final on Monday vs. WI Rapids Assumption at Abbotsford.
