New Honor for Fallen Firefighter

-A new honor has been bestowed upon the Colby volunteer firefighter that lost his life fighting a blaze at the Abby theatre.
In March, Jamison Kampmeyer was fighting a fire at the Theatre in Abbotsford when the roof collapsed and he was trapped inside.
The special tribute created for Kampmeyer was a cover story on a Wisconsin EMS magazine.
Friends close to Kampmeyer said it’s an opportunity to share the story of a brave man. Money from magazine sales will benefit Kampmeyer's family.
Besides the magazine, support continues to pour in. The Colby Fire Department has received cards and letters from around the country. Each week they hear from various groups wanting to honor Kampmeyer and help his family.
More events are slated for this summer in Kampmeyer's honor, keeping his memory alive.
