3 State Teams In NCAA Div. III Baseball Field

UW-Whitewater, U.W. LaCrosse and St. Norbert received at-large berths in the NCAA Division III baseball 56- team tournament field announced earlier today. All three were placed in the Midwest Regional, set to begin Wednesday at UW-Whitewater.
La Crosse (33-9), which won the WIAC regular-season and tournament titles, is seeded second in the eight-team, double-elimination regional. They will open at 7 p.m. Wednesday against seventh-seeded Aurora (36- , the champion of the Northern Athletics Conference.
Whitewater (29-16), the WIAC runner-up in the regular season and in the league tournament, is seeded fourth. The Warhawks play at 10 a.m. Wednesday against fifth-seeded Concordia of Illinois (33-12).
St. Norbert (26-11), the Midwest Conference champion, is seeded eighth. The Green Knights face top-seeded St. Thomas of Minnesota (33-7) at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Winners of the eight regional tournaments will qualify for the double-elimination championship at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis., May 25-29.
