U.W. River Falls Wins WIAC Softball Tourney

UW-River Falls won three games games on Sunday to win their 2nd straight WIAC Softball tournament title.
They opened play with a 4-3 win over Eau Claire, and then beat undefeated Whitewater, 4-1, to force a second championship game in the double elimination tournament played in Eau Claire. The Falcons also won that game 8-4, to claim its second straight title and fourth overall.
U.W. River Falls (30-13) earned the WIAC automatic berth into the NCAA National Tournament. Region assignments will be announced this morning.
