-Teachers at the Loyal School District are going to take a hike; they’re literally taking a hike.

Several teachers at the school are taking a walk over 20 miles from the high school to Target in Marshfield.

1st Grade teacher Ron Klein, a participant in the walk, said he is expecting the walk to take, “6 hours, but everyone is very excited for it.”

There are 17 teachers at Loyal and even 5 Target employees participating in the walk to, “raise funds for the districts technology initiative.” The purpose of the Loyal technology initiative is to put a computing device in the hands of every student. Ron said, “Kindergarten and 1st grade students would receive iPads and the remaining grades would receive laptop computers.”

There are also teachers helping organize the walk, but not participating and the school has been receiving donations from community members and business to raise funds.
