Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Reports of Barn Fire

-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to reports of a barn fire yesterday evening.
The call came in around 7:47 pm yesterday and the initial reports said there was a barn fire in the Township of Grant.
When the Fire Department arrived they found an old barn that had fallen in and was no longer in use had some of the boards and shingles burned.
The owner was burning brush when a stray ember had fallen into the old boards and started the fire. A half-acre of brush had been burned as well.
The Neillsville Fire Department was on scene for 50 minutes and they also had the assistance of the Granton Fire Department which stood by for 30 minutes with water in case things got out of control.
There were no injuries reported.
