Black Bear Caught in Marshfield

-The black bear roaming the City of Marshfield the past three weeks was captured about 3 a.m. today.
According to the Marshfield News Herald, A home owner reported at 1:40 a.m. seeing a bear in his backyard. The man yelled at the bear and the bear climbed into a tree.
A responding police officer made the sounds of a barking dog which kept the bear in the tree until Department of Natural Resources specialists arrived on the scene.
The DNR officers shot the bear with darts containing tranquilizers which caused the bear “to tumble out of the tree,” and was uninjured.
The officers caged the bear, loaded the cage onto a DNR vehicle for transport to a location which will ensure the bear does not return to Marshfield.
