SNOWMOBILE TRAILS CLOSED

What looked like a promising snowmobile season has been put on hold. Deteriorating snow conditions have prompted the closing of most area trails – including Clark, Wood and Marathon County. As of Tuesday afternoon, Jackson County trails remained open, according to a website, but conditions were said to be slushy with only 2- to 3-inches of snow. The forecast doesn’t look favorable, either. The National Weather Service in La Crosse is forecasting high temperatures to be in the low to mid-thirties through next Monday. The average high temperature this time of year is closer to 20-degrees.
