-The Clark County Humane Society is celebrating their anniversary.

Clark County Humane Society is excited to announce 2012 marks the 25th Anniversary of their founding. The shelter was founded back in 1987 and has evolved into the 4th largest Humane Society in the State of Wisconsin.

Over the years CCHS has grown both in size and scope. The original building that housed the stray dogs and cats was 10 X 12 feet. CCHS is now located 7 ½ miles southeast of Neillsville in a modern, state-of-the-art building that is just under 20,000 square feet.

Besides holding pets to be adopted, services have expand to low cost spay and neuter, microchipping, and education. CCHS is one of the few true no-kill Shelters in Wisconsin. The Shelter is funded through program services and donations from thousands of people who support their mission.

In celebration of 25 years of caring, CCHS is planning something special for each month of 2012, including reduced adoption fees, volunteer appreciation gifts, and free ID tags and toys with adoptions. There will also be special events throughout the year.
