Neillsville Booster Club Basketball Tourney Results

The Neillsville Booster Club held their annual Girl's Youth Basketball Tournament this past Sunday with twenty-two, 5th thru 8th grade teams from around Central Wisconsin competing.

Placing first in the 5th grade division was the Neillsville Red squad, finishing 4-0 on the day. Members of the team include: Bailey Schumacher, Wendy Barth, Maggie McDonald, Maddy Koprek, Katie Kunze, Tirzah Dunham, Vanessa Zickert, Kayla Brody, Maddie Chadwick and Sami Kuhn. The team was coached by Jamie Kuhn and Dave McDonald. 2nd place went to representing Assumption with Marshfield taking 3rd and the Neillsville White Group placing 4th.

In the sixth grade division, Marshfield took 1st with a perfect 3-0 record. The Neillsville team took the silver medals going 2-1. Coaches Duane King and Scott Krultz led a group of girls including: Gabi Tomlin, Kaelyn Krultz, Emily Voight, Morgan Bethea, Lauren Mesar, Grace King and Charity Hribar. Greenwood took 3rd. Osseo-Fairchild won the consolation championship.

In the 7th grade division, Neillsville won the gold medals with Marshfield second followed by Assumption and Greenwood. Matt Diestler and Al Schoengarth coached the winning team which included: Kayla Lis, Krista Krultz, Mindy Schoengarth, Lexi Opelt, Morgan Hauge, Mallori Zickert, Ashlee Diestler, Corrtney Schmidt, and Jocelyn Thur.

In the final group, Assumption took home the gold medals with Auburndale claiming the silver. The Neillsville team, coached by Tim Voigt and Tom Glassbrenner, placed third. Members of the team included: Jordan Voigt, Dani Pfieffer, Cameron Reil, Jasmin Glassbrenner, Alex Bixby, and Lexi Averill.

The Booster Club would like to thank the many volunteers who helped officiate, scorekeep, take tickets or worked the concession stand. All proceeds are used to support youth sports at Neillsville Schools.
