CCEDC Has Successful Job Fair

-The Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Clark County Workforce Resource held their job fair yesterday.
The job fair was at the Abbotsford City Hall with many different employers in attendance.
There was a good crowd of people stopping at the different tables and booths, asking for more information, handing out resumes, and making connections. Several were even having brief, on the spot interviews.
When I asked one patron why he was at the job fair he responded, “I was laid off over six months ago. I’ve been trying to get work ever since then, but it’s hard. I’m hoping this will help me.”
I asked several HR Representatives what they thought of the turnout.
“It’s exciting! We have a lot of positions to fill and it’s good to see so many people take interest.” Another went on to say, “It’s a good sign for our county. The more people we bring in, the better it will be for local communities and businesses.”
The CCEDC did say that it has well over one hundred positions to fill and more and more employers are coming forward so they may hold more job fairs in the near future.
